This week I am working on making another memory quilt made from kids t-shirts and PJs. I've already cut all the shirts apart, cut the correct size blocks, and laid them out. Now it's time to SEW!
Turning an everyday ordinary dress into a bridesmaid dress. Before the transformation this dress was a plain single colour, high-low dress with an elastic waistband that had a hemline that was to short for a bridesmaid dress. To transform the dress I added 2 layers of light pink chiffon that added length to the front of the dress but matched the hem of the dress in the back, still keeping the high-low look. Then to cover up the elastic waistband I made a belt/tie out of the same light pink chiffon fabric, to tie around the waist adding a bow to the back. I angled the ends of the tie and left them long to add interest to the back of the dress. Now this summer dress that could be worn any day is transformed into a one of a kind bridesmaid dress. I made these custom cage liners for a customer who wanted to use these reusable cage liners for her guinea pigs cage instead of wood shavings in the cage. These cage liners are made from 2 layers of fleece material with an absorbent layer in between. They can be washed in the wash machine and used over and over again. They also add a fun design and colour to your pets cage. Today I'm working on alterations. I have a dress to hem, 2 shirts to hem because they're too long for the customer, a busted zipper to replace in a pair of shorts and a hole to fix in a pair of jeans.
If you have alterations you need done with your clothes so that they fit you properly or so you can wear them again, fill in the custom sewing form with what you need done and I'll get back to you right away with a quote. Take a look in your closet and if you find something you don't wear any more ask yourself why? And if it's because it's too long, too big, there's a hole or the zippers broken, I can fix it for you and you can wear it again instead of it just sitting in the back of your closet collecting dust! Today I worked on making custom insulin pump cases. They are for a little boy who has diabetes and wanted a different case to carry his pump around in other then the plain black one. So I made a bunch with all different fabrics. They securely close with Velcro and have a loop on the back to slip on to a belt. |
